The 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off

It’s that time of year again… Fall. Fall brings us falling leaves, cold weather,  and of course… Chili! Who doesn’t love a hot, hearty bowl of chili. It’s the perfect cure for a cold fall evening. I bet you also know someone who make a terrific pot of chili. Well, it’s time they make some money on their creation; tell them to enter their chili in the 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off.

Chili Cook-Off Scene

Entering the Chili Cook-Off is easy. All you need to do is:

  • Make some chili (maximum of 2 crock-pots)
  • Bring whatever side items you want to server with your chili (cheese, onions, etc.)
  • Make a sign for your chili
  • Print out the ingredients (for those with allergies)
  • Bring a jar. You’ll need it once all that money starts rolling in.

The best part, we provide the crackers, sandwiches, and drinks. At the end of the night, we’ll tally up how much everyone has in each jar. The person with the most money is declared the winner and their chili will receive the title of “Blue Ribbon Chili“. Here are the payouts for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place:

  • 1st – 75% of your jar
  • 2nd – 50% of your jar
  • 3rd – 25% of your jar

The rest of the money goes to your local Powell County Democratic Party. We use this money to help fight for fairness and prosperity for the working and middle class citizens in our community.

We’ll have candidates that are running for office, as well as some that currently hold office on hand. You can meet them for the first time or catch up on what they’ve been doing for you since the last time you all spoke.
